I took a day trip to the Big Easy with the intention of getting some good eats. I sample quite a few menus. Some good and others not so good. My favorite and the most note worthy was Cafe Amelie. http://www.cafeamelie.com/
If you every visit New Orleans be sure to stop by Cafe Amelie, have a bowl of shrimp & grits and ask for a drink called "Fall Backward".
This is how a Gulf Coast city is supposed to serve seafood. The shrimp was big and fresh, the grits were flavorful and creamy and I could bathe in the sauce if given the opportunity.
